The soap world took a huge hit this past week with the news that ABC was cancelling All My Children and One Life To Live. It has left us with different emotions ranging from hurt, betrayed and angry at ABC but it has also left us with questions. I know our first instint is to fight back which is not a bad thing if done right. There are numberous things to consider and things that could be happening behind the scenes that none of us are aware of and we wouldn’t want to hinder those efforts. I heard that Agnes Nixon, the creator of AMC & OLTL wants to work to try and save the shows so we need to tread lightly here. Angering ABC executives isn’t the way to go about helping AMC, OLTL or even GH.

First I’ll address what we can and can’t do for General Hospital:

Hit the GH comment line, send comment cards, write Guza, JFP, Frons (no calls, emails etc) . Let them know what you would like to see on GH, how you hope that they are willing to make changes to try and improve GH’s ratings. That you want it to be successful again but some changes are necessary. It is ok to give your favorite character and/or couple a boost after all they are part of why you like/love GH so much but please BE RESPECTFUL. Ranting and raving ACCOMPLISHES nothing. Also remember to support your favorite actors/actresses as well. Snail mail is VERY important folks.

What we need to avoid starting now is hounding Frons & Sweeney. IT IS POINTLESS. ABC isn’t going to change it’s mind about AMC/OLTL from disgruntal soap fans calls and it is only going to anger them which could in the end hurt GH and I don’t think any of us want that.

What can we do to help AMC & OLTL fans without hurting other efforts?

Boycotting ABC shows except AMC, OLTL & GH is fine. No harm in doing that and it makes you feel like you are doing something. Some are targeting the advertisers which is also fine because it is getting the message across to ABC but remember be respectful when doing so because ranting & raving accomplishes nothing except *delete message* or *hang ups*. Be smart about your calls, letters & emails. We want to show why the soap fans are loyal we need to show respect if we expect to be heard.

After much thought I have decided to open a forum here at l-s.org in hopes to try and bridge some of the various liason message boards together. I realized that we get alot of traffic here and that some people visit quite a few of the liason message boards but some only have one or two that are their favs so some miss out on great campaigns and projects. So my hope is that other liason boards will be willing to share their campaigns and projects at the new forum. You do have to register but it just takes a few mins to do. I have the new gallery up and on its own domain to make room for growth. Unfortunately when I moved the gallery I had to upgrade to the new coppermine and our current layout at the old gallery does not work with the new version so I’ll be getting a new one done but for now we will just have to deal with the generic layout. My main goal is getting everything moved.

Everything has been moved except screencaps and I will be working on that today & tomorrow. Added some photos that were not previously in the gallery. They are not new images they just were not in the gallery. See if you can find them.

L-s.org’s gallery is growing so much that changes need to be made to ensure it fuctions smoothly. So therefore I’m going to be moving the gallery and re-organizing it. It should be finished and running by the weekend at the latest. Until then I will not be posting any updates for screencaps or clips till this weekend. Sorry for any inconvience but I’m trying to make things better in the long run and give the gallery room to continue growing.

Liason-Stecky.org was picked as site of the month at http://colin-egglesfield.net. What an honor for us.

I have replaced all the 99, 00 & 01 Liason clips in the clip archives with the better quality clips. There are 3 dates missing but I should have them posted soon. I will let you know when they are uploaded. I did remove the old clips so you will know which dates are missing because the folder is empty. I am currently working on 2002 clips and hope to have them posted this week.

As most of you know I have been adding Vintage Liason clips to the clip archive since Specific Hospital has closed, however the quality of the clips from there is not that great. I have found someone that has Jason/Liz scenes on dvd and the quality is very good and they have given me permission to clip them and add them for download to use in mvids etc. I have had a few ask about donating for the dvd’s so if anyone would like to donate you can send your donation to paypal using chynaadoll@gmail.com or you can email me a contact@liason-stecky.org to send a money order.
